Scope of the Policy

This Privacy Policy applies to data processing regardless of the form and/or environment in which the Client provides personal data (via Riga Kitchen’s website, mobile applications, in paper format, or electronically) and regardless of the systems or paper-based formats used to process such data.

Legal Basis for Personal Data Processing

Riga Kitchen processes Client personal data on the following legal bases:

  • For the conclusion and performance of a contract – to prepare, conclude, and ensure the execution of a contract upon the Client’s request;
  • For compliance with legal obligations – to fulfill obligations established by applicable laws binding on Riga Kitchen;
  • Based on the Client’s consent – where the Client (data subject) has given explicit consent;
  • For legitimate interests – to pursue Riga Kitchen’s lawful business interests arising from relationships with the Client, the concluded contract, or applicable law.

Riga Kitchen’s legitimate interests include:

  • Conducting commercial activities;
  • Offering high-quality, verified products;
  • Verifying the Client’s identity before entering into a contract;
  • Ensuring fulfillment of contractual obligations;
  • Preventing unjustified financial risks to business operations;
  • Retaining Client applications, requests, and submissions regarding purchases and services, including notes made verbally, by phone, or via websites;
  • Analyzing and improving the functionality of Riga Kitchen websites and mobile applications;
  • Administering Client accounts on Riga Kitchen websites and mobile applications;

  • Segmenting the customer database for more efficient service provision;

Riga Kitchen will not sell, provide, exchange, or otherwise disclose account, transaction data, or personal information about card users, except to the Acquirer, Visa/Mastercard corporations, or as required by applicable government regulations.

Personal Data Processing

Riga Kitchen processes Client data using modern technologies, taking into account existing privacy risks and available organizational, financial, and technical resources.

Riga Kitchen may apply automated decision-making in relation to Clients. Clients will be separately informed of such actions in accordance with applicable law. Clients have the right to object to automated decision-making; however, they acknowledge that in certain cases this may limit their ability to access specific services (e.g., receiving commercial offers).

For the proper and timely execution of contractual obligations, Riga Kitchen may authorize its partners to perform certain tasks, such as product delivery, warranty service, invoicing, and similar activities. If, in carrying out these tasks, Riga Kitchen’s partners process Client personal data, they act as data processors on behalf of Riga Kitchen. Riga Kitchen has the right to provide such partners with the necessary Client data to the extent required for fulfilling these tasks.

Riga Kitchen’s partners (as data processors) ensure compliance with personal data processing and protection requirements in accordance with Riga Kitchen’s instructions and applicable legislation, and they may not use personal data for any other purposes beyond fulfilling contractual obligations on behalf of Riga Kitchen.

Payment processing is provided via the platform makecommerce.lv, therefore Riga Kitchen transfers the personal data necessary for payment execution to the platform owner, Maksekeskus AS.

Protection of Personal Data

Riga Kitchen protects Client data using modern technological solutions, taking into account existing privacy risks and the organizational, financial, and technical resources reasonably available to Riga Kitchen, including:

  • Data encryption during transmission (SSL encryption).

Client Consent to Data Processing and the Right to Withdraw

Where personal data is processed on the basis of consent, the Client may give consent via the Riga Kitchen website (e.g., by subscribing to a loyalty program or newsletters) or in person at the Riga Kitchen office.

The Client has the right to withdraw consent for data processing at any time in the same way it was given, or by sending a notification to goodmoodkitchenriga@gmail.com. In such cases, further processing of data based on the withdrawn consent for the specific purpose will no longer be carried out.

Withdrawal of consent does not affect the legality of data processing performed while the consent was valid.

Withdrawal of consent does not stop data processing carried out on other legal grounds.

Communication with Clients

Riga Kitchen communicates with Clients using the contact details provided by the Client (telephone number, email address, postal address, and SMS notifications from the service).

Communication related to the execution of contractual obligations (such as coordinating delivery times, providing invoice information, notifying about planned works or service changes, etc.) is carried out on the basis of the concluded contract.

Commercial Communications

Communication regarding commercial notices about Riga Kitchen and/or third-party services, as well as other messages not directly related to the agreed services (e.g., customer surveys), is carried out in accordance with applicable legislation or based on the Client’s consent.

The Client may give consent to receive commercial communications from Riga Kitchen and/or its partners on the Riga Kitchen website or other internet sites (e.g., newsletter subscription forms).

Consent to receive commercial communications remains valid until withdrawn (including after the termination of a service contract). The Client may unsubscribe from receiving commercial communications at any time by:

  • Sending an email to goodmoodkitchenriga@gmail.com;
  • Visiting the Riga Kitchen office in person;
  • Using the automated unsubscribe option included in each commercial message (e.g., by clicking the unsubscribe link at the end of an email).

Riga Kitchen stops sending commercial communications as soon as the Client’s request to withdraw consent is processed.
